The winter sleeping bag from the Ukrainian brand Turbat is offered in two versions — Reg (length 215 cm for height up to 185 cm) and Long (225 and 195 cm, respectively). The width consistently varies from 80 to 50 cm, and the interesting design highlights the color division into light and dark sandy "halves".
Turbat Vogen Winter 185 utilizes TTLoft Wool Insulation, an exclusive combined insulation. It consists of a synthetic part (70%) and natural wool (30%). The latter should help warm up faster and retain heat better inside, while the polyester fibers — protect from moisture and provide high hypoallergenic properties.
The mummy bag can be used in cold weather — from the second half of autumn until the end of April. Thanks to the dense thermal insulation material (500 g/m) and additional structural elements (thermal rollers and collar), men can count on full rest without awakenings at temperatures down to -13 °C, while women and beginner hikers — down to -7 °C.
The product is covered on the outside and inside with synthetic materials from the Japanese brand Toray — namely dense water-repellent polyester and a fabric that's pleasant to the touch called Taffeta. It is stated that the sleeping bag is manufactured in Ukraine.
Notable features of the model include a front zipper. It is intended to speed up unzipping and zipping, as the principle of operation resembles that of a jacket or other clothing. In a partially open sleeping bag, it is convenient to sit without uncovering the shoulders and not releasing heat. As in other cases, when fully unzipped, you can use the product as a blanket. However, the front zipper has a downside — the absence of the function to combine two sleeping bags into one large one.
Despite having a complete compression bag, when folded, Turbat Vogen Winter 185 is quite large (38x32x32 cm — almost 39 liters). Nevertheless, the weight (2.3 kg) is quite acceptable for a winter solution, and in general, the model is a balanced mid-range choice, providing warmth and comfortable use.

The name of the Alaska 450 model from the brand Terra Incognita already hints at the intended purpose of the sleeping bag. It is designed for demanding users who require high thermal insulation properties. Here, three layers of HollowCore 7 synthetic insulation are used. Additional elements like an anatomical hood, collar, and an extra roller along the zipper are intended to reduce heat loss.
It is stated that the Terra Incognita Alaska 450 is rated for sleeping at temperatures as low as -18 °C. It may be uncomfortably warm to sleep in the model at temperatures above +10 degrees Celsius, and it is unsafe for health at temperatures below -32 °C.
The sleeping bag has a mummy form factor, meaning its 80-centimeter width at the shoulder area tapers to 50 cm at the feet. The overall length of the product is 220 cm, which will suit most users (except the tallest travelers). An outer dense polyester with Rip Stop tear protection is used, and the lining is made of a "breathable" and lightweight synthetic material called Micro Polyester.
Two sleeping bags can be joined together to form a double bed (models with left and right zippers are required). In addition to the usual small-item pocket, fabric protection system, the product also features a glow-in-the-dark zipper puller and a pillow compartment.
The sleeping bag weighs 2.26 kg, which for a winter expedition model can be considered an acceptable indicator. However, due to the use of synthetic filler, even in a compression bag, the dimensions leave much to be desired (45x30x30 cm — volume over 40 liters). However, the Terra Incognita Alaska 450 has an affordable price, so if you want a frost-resistant mummy without overpayments, this timelessly tested solution from the Ukrainian brand is definitely worth considering.

The expedition sleeping bag manufactured by Pinguin is designed for winter tourism, including mountain ascents. It is stated that users can count on a comfortable night's sleep even at temperatures ranging from -8 to -16 °C. More experienced campers should target the latter value, while newcomers and women should aim for the former.
The main insulating material of the Pinguin Expert CCS 195 2020 consists of three layers of BHB Micro synthetic. This fabric is moisture-resistant (unlike natural insulators) and provides a balance of weight and dimensions. For a winter solution, the sleeping bag is not heavy (2.1 kg), and when compressed in the included compression bag, it has fairly modest dimensions (33x26x26 cm, which is about 22 liters in volume).
In addition to practical synthetic materials (nylon on the outside and polyester inside), the mummy design features high-quality fittings from the Japanese brand YKK. Additionally, the zipper has the usual fabric protection and is supplemented with reflective elements on the slider, making it more visible in the dark. It also highlights having a pillow compartment, a well-adjustable hood with a thermal collar, and drying loops.
Two sleeping bags can be connected into one double, which will allow warming up faster or not freezing in even more severe frosts. The Pinguin Expert CCS 195 2020 is an interesting winter model that combines decent insulation with good equipment and compact dimensions.

The mummy from the Snugpak brand can be attributed to the mid-price category and recommended for winter tourism, mountain ascents, and tactical scenarios. Comfortable sleep should be ensured by the sleeping bag at frosts from -15 to -10 degrees Celsius. To achieve this, it is equipped with a signature Softie synthetic filler, which in many ways resembles natural down but retains better insulation properties when wet. To reduce heat loss, a hood, collar, and insulated zipper (using quality YKK fittings) are suggested.
Snugpak Softie Elite 4's readiness for trekking application is confirmed by its reasonable weight (1.95 kg for winter items) and not too large dimensions in the included compression case — 28x24x24 cm (or about 16 liters in volume).
The sleeping bag has received a polyester outer layer and synthetic lining. The latter includes two types of fabric — soft Paratex Light and Reflectatherm that enhances insulation properties. It is also stated that the foot area is reinforced, therefore allowing overnight stays in shoes, which may be relevant during severe cold spells and military use.
With an overall length of 220 cm (including the hood), the sleeping bag fits heights up to 190 cm. Users of average and low height are offered the possibility to shorten the model using clamps in the foot area. Another feature is a special side insert. It allows expanding the sleeping space at the shoulders (there is a default 75 cm allowance), which among others can serve as an additional method of adjusting the microclimate (ventilation).
The downside of the model is the absence of an attachment function, which for winter and challenging expeditions, is definitely not superfluous. In any case, the Snugpak Softie Elite 4 is a good choice with excellent insulation and flexible sleeping space adjustments.

The key feature of the sleeping bag from Sea To Summit is the presence of down filling. Here, high-quality duck down certified by RDS (obtained without animal cruelty) is used. Thanks to this insulation, experienced tourists can use the model at temperatures as low as -18 degrees Celsius, while those who are more susceptible to cold and beginners can use it at -11 °C.
Down also makes the Sea To Summit Trek -18C 185 not overly heavy (1.9 kg) and allows effective compression for backpack transport. By default, the folded volume is about 26 liters, but the compression case allows squeezing down to a very compact size of 14.2 liters.
The sleeping bag features a removable hood and insulated collar to reduce upper body heat loss. The down is protected from moisture and other adverse effects by a practical outer layer and lining (both components being nylon). A separate advantage is the Free-Flow Zip System — essentially a convenient dual zipper that allows freeing both arms from the mummy, turning the sleeping bag into a blanket, linking two models into one, as well as enjoying additional features — a separate foot closure and a reflective puller.
The bag is designed for heights up to 185 cm, and for taller individuals, a Long version is offered — for 198 cm. It should also be noted that the Trek family is positioned as more comfortable sleeping bags with a wider sleeping space compared to the Spark and Ascent lines.
The Sea To Summit Trek -18C 185 can be attributed to advanced price segment solutions and recommended to demanding tourists. At the same time, compared to other winter down sleeping bags, its cost is quite reasonable.
