Мають циліндричну форму, при цьому при довжині 50 мм (як у АА), Елементи живлення С майже в 2 рази товщі — 26,2 мм. Відповідно, і ємність у них набагато вище: для Ni-Mh технології, за якою зазвичай виконуються такі акумулятори, вона становить до 6000 мАгод. Це помітно вище, ніж у сольових батарейок, але нижче, ніж у алкалінових. Крім того, номінальна напруга в даному типорозмірі становить 1,5 В, а нікель-метал-гідридні джерела живлення видають всього 1,2 В. Втім, це не є серйозним недоліком: в більшості приладів під батарейки С дана особливість врахована, і з сумісністю проблем не виникає.
