However, never put ordinary stoneware and porcelain into a preheated oven, and also avoid putting hot stoneware and porcelain directly onto a cold worktop. Large temperature differences can cause porcelain and stoneware to crack and break. It must therefore be heated carefully and cooled down slowly.
